On a rainy day in Branson, warming up with traditional North Indian cuisine sounded like a great idea. Silas and I walked in the doors to hear Indian music playing in a comfortable atmosphere where we could relax in cushy booths while waiting for our food. We ordered at 1:24, and could choose our level of spice in the Lamb dish we selected. (FYI, I prefer their “mild” spice option since it is more like the level of the medium I normally experience at non-Indian restaurants. If this is your first time trying true Indian cuisine, I would suggest stepping down a level with the “spiciness” you normally prefer.) Also, be sure to try some of their clay oven bread! It’s a fun experience and not something I would go without, especially since it is a cheap side. Our food arrived 13 minutes after we ordered and the portion sizes were large enough for both of us after splitting the main dish. (If you prefer, they have many vegetarian options available.) Adding to the authenticity of the place was the fact that both waiters were Indian and several Indians were eating there as well as the tourists.
With their convenient location on Hwy 76, and the exotic ‘n flavorful dishes we enjoyed, Silas and I both agreed India Clay Oven was a place worth visiting again!
